Kiss Mask: Congratualtions on the success of "ANOMALY." It debuts at #27 on Billboard's Top 200 next week.
Ace Frehley: Thank you. That's my lucky number. Too many weird things have happened-but that's the way my life's story has been (laughs). So it really dosen't surprise me that much.
KM: It doesn't surprise you at all?
AF: It does but it doesn't. I'm still a little in shock over the numbers. My new label (Bronx Born) is #2 on the Indie charts. You know what? After working on the record for twenty years it was all worth the while.

Here's a review of the Detroit's Cobo Hall show:

"This was my second time seeing KISS this year. That for me is rare. Once was in my home town & then last night in Detroit Rock City. The set list was as it was for the KISS Alive 35 tour at home, with the exception of the debut of the new costumes, which were more modern day and finally gave Eric and Tommy their own identity in the band, the new set and the debut performance, for me, of Modern Day Delilah. The stage show was brand new with monitor screens that looked like speakers on stage. The monitors would display seperate pictures of the audience, album covers, fans in make-up,etc, as well as what the camera guys were shooting during the show which would be used for the new dvd coming out about the show. Behind the stage was a huge screen that showed live action footage from the stage and/or the audience. At the beginning of the show, KISS emerged from the bottom of the stage, begining with Eric's drums rising up from behind the huge 12' KISS logo wall on the floor where his drums sat on this 12' wall. Eric's drums rose during his drum solo & did a 360 degree turn. This was new & i thought it was really cool to see.  When Paul flew out over the crowds, his platform also did a 360 turn, much to the joy of the crowd. Then Gene flew up into the rafters, which for me is always a highlight. KISS thanked the crowd for making them what they are today & told them that without Detroit in the early years things for KISS might have been a lot different.  One thing besides the great kiss show that i noticed was, again, the people who came to the show. The KISS Army really is a family. There were little ones there & even the ushers were helping them to see the show by taking them closer to the stage. And others were helping these little fans to make sure they did not get hurt & were having a great time. Kiss spans the ages, now as they did years ago. Kiss is not about a time frame in music years. KISS is endless & the memories will be here long after my kiss collection starts collecting dust. I had, like I always do at a KISS concert, a great time that left me wanting more. This is no surprise even now I wanna rock & roll all night & party everyday."

"Questo e' stato il mio secondo concerto dei KISS quest'anno. La setlist e' stata la stessa della prima parte americana dell'Alive 35 tour con l'eccezione dei nuovi costumi, che hanno dato finalmente a Tommy ed Eric una loro identita', ma soprattutto per il debutto live della nuova canzone Modern Day Delilah.Il palco era totalmente nuovo, con  monitor che sembravano amplificatori che trasmettevano cover degli album e fans in make up, ed erano presenti dei cameramen a riprendere lo show per il prossimo dvd.

A sovrastare lo stage vi era uno schermo gigantesco che trasmetteva le immagini dei nostri beneamini!La batteria di Eric e la piattaforma di Paul erano in grado di girarsi di 360 gradi e all'inizio del concerto sono emersi dal basso accompagnati dal classico KISS logo! I KISS hanno ringraziato i loro fan per averli resi cio' che sono e ancora una volta ho notato che i fan dei KISS sono come una famiglia formata da grandi e piccoli, tutti pronti a rendere possibile a questi ultimi di godersi lo show senza farsi male.I Kiss non avranno mai fine... ci vorra' un bel po' di tempo prima che la mia collezione prendi polvere!"

Could Kiss finally make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? After being snubbed for years - the band has been eligible for the honor since 1999 - Kiss has finally been nominated, along with Abba, Donna Summer, Genesis, the Stooges, the Hollies, LL Cool J and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the organization has announced. Jimmy Cliff, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro and the Chantels are also on the ballot, and votes will be cast by a group of more than 500 musicians and industry professionals; of the 12 nominees, the five that get the most votes will be announced in January and inducted into the Hall of Fame at its 25th annual ceremony on March 15 at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan. Acts become eligible 25 years after the release of their first record.

Now some KISS fans (?) sites have published links for downloading and streaming the album. Deucenews can't avoid to report such news but firmily refuse and blame such behaviours. We strongly believe in the Band and respect their rights. This is not what we intend for being a KISS fan site.

KISS' Sonic Boom will be released in the UK and Europe through Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records on October 5th and in the US and Canada exclusively at Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam's Club retail locations on October 6th.

What a ride! Exactly one week ago, on the 9 of September Deucenews revealed some media plan for KISS, TV shows and live video for Modern Day Delilah. Now is the time to get them confirmed!! Gene Simmons :"a portion of Kiss' opening night show will be broadcast live on network TV.I don't want to spell it out. The different evening shows have policies, and they're jealous of each other. The group will also be filming a video for "Sonic Boom's" first single, "Modern Day Delilah," in Detroit as well as footage for online exclusives and an eventual DVD release. Meanwhile the A&E channel will be broadcasting "Kissteria," a documentary shot earlier last year during the Kiss' tour of Australia and New Zealand." KISS will be at the Jay Leno show on the 22nd of this month, but before that kissonline.com announced KISS will do over 20 Television interviews on Thursday morning, including the following, which will air live.

SONIC BOOM LEAKED: MCGHEE FIRES EMPLOYEE

The official Sonic Boom launch will take place on the 4 of next month, but fewer impatients have already found a way to listen Sonic Boom already, the next album by Kiss. The CD was fully leaked and can be easily found on the net.

The band had already released the first single from the album "Modern Day Delilah", and is working on a big launch campaign, which will be made exclusively by Walmart network in the U.S. and Canada. The early leak of the disk is not enough to change the marketing strategy of the band, but will certainly cost the job of someone: Destak.com found that at least one employee close to Doc McGhee, the band's manager, has been fired.

Anche se il lancio ufficiale di Sonic Boom avverrà il 4 del prossimo mese qualche impaziente ha trovato il modo di ascoltarlo già. L'album infatti ha fatto la sua comparsa su internet in siti di filesharing. Questo non cambierà le attività di marketing del gruppo ma costerà senza dubbio il posto a qualcuno: Destak.com ha scoperto che un impiegato vicino a Doc McGhee, il manager dei KISS, è stato licenziato.

Gene Simmons recently talked to The Pulse of Radio about the upcoming new tour: "New outfits, brand new stage, millions more put into it - that's the history of KISS. Simply put, any band you go to see for the same ticket price, y'know, KISS is gonna give you tenfold more. That's just a statement of fact. And there's a new screen, state-of-the-art; I don't think people have seen this kind of thing before - that's literally as wide as the entire stage. So, there ain't a bad seat in the house."

Gene Simmons annuncia che nessuno avrà problemi a seguire i prossimi concerti dato che i KISS avranno uno schermo di ultima generazione di dimensione uguale a quella del palco!!!

WILL SONIC BOOM BE RELEASED ON VINYL TOO?

Less the one month and many of us will have a Sonic Boom copy in our hands and for sure it will be a CD, but will Sonic Boom be released on vinyl too?

Last March Paul talking to amNY.com about the vinyl records told that: “The beauty in buying an LP used to be you got a package, a piece of art - something that someone worked hard on to make it creative, dynamic and interesting to look at it and maybe to put on your wall; and now with CDs, all you can see is someone’s name. In that way I miss it.” Paul Stanley also said that if the demand would have called for it, KISS would have released its new album on vinyl. Wait and see?

Fra meno di un mese molti di noi avranno in mano una copia di Sonic Boom, e sarà sicuramente un CD, ma uscirà anche la versione in vinile?

Lo scorso marzo Paul è stato intervistato in merito al mercato dei dischi in vinile, ecco che cosa ha detto ad amNY.com.
"La bellezza di comprare un LP è il fatto che hai in mano un pezzo d'arte, il frutto del lavoro di qualcuno che si è impegnato nel realizzare qualcosa di creativo, dinamico ed interessante da guardare, e magari da appendere perfino nella tua camera. Adsso con i CD tutto quello che vedi è il nome di qualcuno e basta. Per questo mi mancano i dischi in vinile." Paul Stanley ha aggiunto che se si sarà l'opportunità i KISS realizzeranno il nuovo album anche in vinile. Speriamo!!!

An Oshawa city councillor says he's tapping in to his list of contacts to try to secure an additional KISS performance after tickets for the band's October show sold out within minutes. Councillor Robert Lutczyk is making calls "first thing" today following a weekend of watching residents line up for days for tickets only to leave empty-handed.  "It's the first on my to-do list, making calls on my network that I've developed just to see. It might be difficult, but it's very possible," Lutczyk said. KISS, the heavy metal rock group, had left Oshawa off their initial list of stops on this fall's tour, despite the city winning an online contest to host the band. After media reported fans' outrage, the group announced an Oshawa stop. Tickets for the Oct. 7 show went on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. All 5,600 sold out within minutes. "Anything is possible, but I don't think there have been any discussions with the promoter about a second show," said Cortney Ager of the General Motors Centre, the concert's venue. Lutczyk said he saw hundreds of people in line when he went jogging at 5 a.m. Saturday morning. When he called box office representatives before 10:15 a.m., the tickets were already sold out. "I don't think the 11th person in line even got a ticket and they were there for days," he said.
Vendor New Era confirmed the show was sold out. Prices started at $84.50, with an eight-ticket limit for customers. KISS Meet and Greet Experience packages, priced at $1,100, were also sold out. The pricey option included one premium reserved seat within the first two rows of the stage, an exclusive meet and greet, an autograph and a $100 voucher to the online KISS store. Tickets are already on sale on Craigslist and eBay, some for hundreds of dollars – Lutczyk said he saw tickets listed for $475.  "I never expected it to be this big," Lutczyk said. The Oshawa concert will be a special premiere of the band's new album, Sonic Boom. Residents flooded an online contest to put Oshawa on the list for the tour. Lutczyk said the additional concert would have to be held Oct. 6 because the General Motors Centre is booked on Oct. 8.  The band is scheduled to perform in Boston on Oct. 5 and Uniondale, N.Y., on Oct. 9.  KISS spokesman Erik Stein did not return the Star's call.

Paul's concert film "One Live KISS" was selected as a Telly Award winner earlier this summer, and during Paul's art VIP reception, director and producer Louis Antonelli personally presented Paul with his Telly Award statuette and certificate.

Sonic Boom è davvero la miglior produzione dei KISS da anni a questa parte. Sentire, anche per soli 15 secondi, le voci di Paul&Gene su nuove canzoni mi ha fatto venire i brividi, ed Eric e Tommy sono il vero valore aggiunto di questo album. Less then one month for Sonic Boom to hit the streets and KISS are busy setting up some promotional activities so far Lately both Gene and Paul released interviews with several music magazines to be published next moth in the attempt to boost Sonic Boom sales world wide. While negotiations for a new European tour are on their way. (Italy seems will be kissed again in March 2010) many sources are talking about KISS hosted by a prime time TV show in the US before September 25th.. It’s also rumoured they will tape a “live” video for Modern Day Delilah staged at the Cobo Hall in Detroit this month.

Well, finally I can discuss Paul Stanley’s new Washburn V Guitar!
Paul has released this photo showing his new costume for the upcoming tour as well as displaying his new Washburn Signature ‘V’ Guitar. Paul took some inspiration from his 70’s black ‘V’ with the mirror pickguard and then put a few small twists in there such as the very, very cool reverse headstock. Trust me – this guitar is SLAMMIN’!
Boogie Street is bringing the first 10 of these USA customs to market. You bet we are! And Paul has given the OK to make some double pickup versions of this guitar as well! JFH: Richie, You're back in the City of Brotherly Love- do you have fond memories playing here in Philadelphia?
RS: I love this city. I used to perform here with a former band, the Seducers.
This whole night is dedicated in the memory of my former drummer who passed away. He was a member of the Dead End Kids, the Missles and all these great bands from Philly that have been around forever- Tonight is is memory of Billy Lomax and I am very happy to be here.
Earlier today, you jumped up onstage at FuzzStock with tonight's opener, Fosterchild, in New Hope. What did you play with them?
Cool band. I got up there and did "Johnny B. Goode" and "Purple Haze." I literally jumped out of the car and up onstage, did two songs and jumped back in the car and came back to Philly.
You're back on guitar rather than bass as you did with Mountian - Is that transistion of changing instruments onstage an easy one for you?
It feels fantastic playing guitar and doing my own songs. I have a new rhythum section- RussWilson on drums (Dennis Dunaway Project) and Philly veteran bass player Larry Fisher who played with me in Sabastian Bach.
What led you to leave Leslie West and Mountian?
I think it was time. I put a lot of years and it was my main bread and butter - I got to go all over the world. It was time to be Richie Scarlet again. I know a lot of players that are working in deli's. Here's a band that's constantly touring - having been all over the world to Germany to Japan. I'm a big fan, having grown up listening to Leslie West. He's one of my influences on guitar.
Can you believe that it's been 18 years since "Trouble Walkin'?"
Has it been that long?
It's been that long. Are you still in touch with Ace?
No, I haven't talked to Ace in quite awhile. "Trouble Walking'" was a great experience, working with Eddie Kramer who did the Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin records. Wow. Eighteen years!
Have you heard any of Ace's new record, "Anomaly?"
I know he's putting a new record out and I wish him all the luck ni the world with it. Ace is half the reason my career is what it is. He always treated me like gold. He opened tons of door for me and I love the guy.
What do you think of Kiss recording a new record?
If you wanna' go back to the original Kiss - I was with Peter Criss almost two weeks ago. I just cut ten tracks on bass. Angel, his orginal bass player had all the guitars done. So, I came down, did bass on ten tracks for his new album which is going to be released in April 2010. It's a great rock and roll record. I can't tell you how much fun we had for three days. It's kind of ironic going from Ace to Peter - the two rebels of Kiss. They were the attitude of Kiss.

ACE FREHLEY IN JAPAN (from blabbermouth.net)

Ace Frehley  Firebird, Blesses by a Broken Heart and Dead by April have been confirmed for this year's installment of the Loud Park festival, set to take place October 17-18 at Makuhari Messe, a convention center in Japan located in the western region of Chiba Prefecture, close to Tokyo. Ace will be there on Saturday, October 17.

The question that has plagued many classic rock acts as to how you make a record sound like your older material but not sound like your trying to hard? Well the answer is - don't over do it, use old technology and have someone in the band produce the record. The new KISS record, "Sonic Boom," released on October 6 has done just that. I had my doubts like every other fan out there, especially after the uber-produced last record "Psycho Circus" released in 1998 and the atrocious solo albums that have followed in the past few years.

Well the band has done it. They have captured a sound on this new record that came right from their 70's heyday era. Produced by the Starchild himself, Paul Stanley, KISS is back and rock n' rolling all nite and partying everyday. The KISS riffs are full on with no auto tune or any of that new audio technology enhancement nonsense. The band maintains the sounds of the early 70's mixed with some 80's styles the band has acquired throughout their classic years. The album opens with the new single "Modern Day Delilah" and rocks just like the "Detroyer" years. You can get a taste of this song at kissonline.com. "Russian Roulette" follows with the signature Demon bass man singing the majority of this tune that screams melody. The vocals from Stanley and Simmons don't miss a beat, even if they are in their mid 50's."Yes I Know (Nobody's Perfect)" was pulled right out from 1977 as i can imagine the band playing this one at a small club before their rise to fame. Great vocals from Gene and Paul as they helm most of the new album.
"Stand" hits us with a more mainstream KISS sound and would be a great second single with it's "God Gave Rock N' Roll To You" reminiscence. The monster KISS gang styled chorus slows down to a breakdown of vocal delight over the clean guitars. "Hot and Cold" is one of my favorite tracks on the album, with its classic "Deuce" style hook-laden rock and some cowbell as well. The chorus has Simmons repeating "If its too hot, it's too cold, If it's too loud, your too old" will be stuck in your head for days. Even if the lyrics don't look great on paper (or typed), you'll be head bobbin and humming along in no time. "I'm An Animal" has a very old school KISS vibe mixed with a zeppelin-esque riffs that is little bit different for the band but works on the same level.
The band has once again reclaimed that they are top dogs in the classic rock world. Even though KISS isn't considered one of the best classic rock bands because of their theatrics, this CD will stand the test of time, knowing how many classic bands have tried to reclaim their early status and failed miserably. This record may not sell millions but i know for the die hard fans and fans alike, this album will get a sure smile out of any rock and roll fan. Bring out the leather heels and the makeup, even though they haven't left, KISS is back and better than ever!

Un'altra positiva recensione si aggiunge alle numerose già pubblicate. Di certo non avremo quello che sia Gene che Paul hanno annunciato numerose volte, il suono anni '70. In tutte le recensioni, come questa di Tom, chi ha ascoltato l'album cita il suono di fine anni 80 come metro di paragone unito allo "stile" anni '70 ovvero solo basso, chitarre e batteria senza le mastodontiche produzioni che hanno inquinato l'ultimo lavoro in studio di KISS.

Manca poco e lo ascolteremo anche noi!!!

Kiss ends a 10-year absence from Billboard's rock airplay charts, as "Modern Day Delilah" debuts at No. 26 on the Heritage Rock survey (viewable every other week in the print issue of Billboard magazine).Not a bad birthday present for the legendary group's Gene Simmons, who turned 60 last week (Aug. 25). (Paul Stanley celebrates the same milestone Jan. 20). Kiss' Billboard chart history dates to April 20, 1974, when its self-titled set first appeared on the Billboard 200. The act will log its 33rd charting title following the Oct. 6 release of the Walmart exclusive "Sonic Boom," the band's first offering of new material this decade. Kiss' last album, 1998's "Psycho Circus," became its highest-charting on the Billboard 200 (No. 3) and produced its first airplay chart No. 1. The title cut led Heritage Rock for four weeks and Mainstream Rock for one frame.
In a press release, Simmons sticks to the group's trademark understated and unassuming nature. "'Sonic Boom' may be the best new record we've done since (1976's) 'Destroyer'! It is 'Rock and Roll Over' meets 'Love Gun.' The world's biggest retailer had better get ready for the hottest band in the world and hire more cashiers before October 6th!"

What didn't go into KISS's new album Sonic Boom seems almost as important to Gene Simmons as what did. "There are no ballads," the demon bassist growls down the phone from L.A. when asked about the band's first studio disc since 1998's Psycho Circus. "There are no keyboards. There are no synths. There are no girl background singers."
Of course, there's also no Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. But a lack of original members didn't stop Gene and longtime partner Paul Stanley from taking an old-school, back-to-basics approach to their 19th album. The disc is due for release Oct. 6.
