LETTER FROM GENE

As many of you have read Gene's interview did not happen, due to time constraints and lots of commitments he had, nontheless we chatted a bit...This is what I received once back home...

"Dear Fabio,
My apologies.
I was looking forward to meeting you...but as you can imagine, it's very hectic at concerts.

SIGNED KISS LIMITED EDITION PRINTS AVAILABLE NOW
As previously reported by kissonline.com the Sonic Boom and RaRO signed prints are now available for preorder.
Here what Michael Doret says about "These two signed (signed by me and the members of the group), limited edition, large scale giclées are now finally available through the official KISS Online Store! These prints made from my original artwork of Sonic Boom and Rock and Roll Over are the best incarnations you will ever see of my art for these two iconic KISS releases. I have digitally redone my orignal art for Rock and Roll Over (after 30+ years the original original art is long gone), and so now it’s cleaner and crisper than ever before. The art for Sonic Boom was digitally created to begin with and so enlarges to the 20″ size perfectly.

The print images are 20″ square printed on 25″ square “Museo Textured Rag” digital Watercolor paper. These are archival prints and will show no visible signs of fading for 100+ years under reasonable lighting situations.
Printed by Art Works Fine Art Publishing in Los Angeles, these editions are limited to 250 prints each, and each print will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by me.
As the creator of these two pieces I am very critical of print quality, but suffice it to say that when I saw the final proofs of these two pieces I was blown away by the color intensity and the quality. Order yours before they’re gone!"

KISS AT TULSA HARD ROCK (By JENNIFER CHANCELLOR World Scene Writer)

Rock act KISS announces Wednesday event at Hard Rock

We know where KISS is staying while in town.
And now you do, too. Band members Tommy Thayer, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Paul Stanley are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa through Wednesday, sources confirm. The band also performs tonight at the BOK Center in Tulsa as part of its world tour. On Wednesday, the band will address fans and sign items for display in the casino during a press conference at 4 p.m. at the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel.  It is free and open to the public, and fans are welcome to bring cameras for pictures and more...

KISS ROLLS INTO THE IGLOO AND MAKES IT ROCK
The Pitsburgh date seems to be so far the last concert for KISS in 2009 as the 15 sold-out KISS performance at the Essar Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario had to be postponed due to severe weather conditions. Here below a review by Scott Mervis, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Paul Stanley, the best in-between-song screamer in the history of rock 'n' roll, screeched last night, "We've been playing this place for so long -- it feels like church to us!" OK, synagogue may have made more sense but that's not the point. The point is that when you think of bands that were able to transform the Igloo into some seedy house of hard rock Kiss is somewhere near the top. And the last time they came through this area it was all wrong. They here sent out to the pasture in Burgettstown and forced to open for Aerosmith in the daylight, which is like making Dracula walk on the beach. Last night, on the Kiss Alive 35 Tour, they made it right one last time under the silver dome. It wasn't like those gigs in the '70s, of course, when the place was teeming with rowdy and stoned teenagers. There were little kids getting their faces painted in the hallways along with paunchy dads, and at one point Stanley yelled, "Hold up your children!" The stage was different, too -- considerably cleaner and more hi tech with dozens of amps that doubled as video screens and a jumbotron to provide a better look at Gene Simmons' blood, sweat and tongue. Kiss rolled in with a new album, "Sonic Boom" -- "Go to Walmart.com!" Stanley screamed -- but only bothered to play two of the songs, the heavier-metal single "Modern Day Delilah" and "Say Yeah." The rest of the show was reserved for classics like the explosive opener "Deuce," the sexy "Strutter" and "Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll," given a full blues-boogie jam treatment.

GENE SIMMONS N.Y. BOOK SIGNING
Gene Simmons will be appearing at the Borders book store in New York City on Dec. 17 at 12:30 p.m. to sign copies of KISS Kompendium, a compilation of all KISS comics featuring the adventures of the band's four superhero characters defeating evil with comic icons like Spiderman, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and Wolverine. The foreword was written by Gene Simmons.

Gene Simmons sarà a New York il 17 di Dicembre presso Borders book store per autografare le copie di KISS Kompendium.

Close encounters in Anaheim
Some cool shopping in the morning at Amoeba on Sunset Blvd. If you never went there be sure to check it out next time you’ll be in L.A., CDs, vinyl’s, DVD’s, books, everything that’s music can be found there!!!
Anaheim in the afternoon, we plan to be there 3.30 p.m. to be on time to attend the soundcheck at 4.30pm. The GPS tells us 25’ driving from hotel; it will take us almost an hour!!! Read it all here

MODERN DAY DELILAH VIDEO CLIP

Finally the video clip taped during the dress reharsal at the Detroit Cobo Hall end of September made his appearance, strangely enough on Squzz TV in the UK.

The current video is without audio to avoid copyrights infringements, a complete version does exist.

PAUL STANLEY FAVORITE STREET: VIA ROMA, SCARPERIA, ITALY (via paulstanley.com)

Having played the world, is there one place that stands out to the dynamic rocker? "This past year after we finished a European tour, I had my whole family -- my kids, my wife, my parents and her parents, fly to Italy. We stayed in a Medici villa in a little town called Vicchio, in the Mugello region," Stanley says. "While we were there, we visited a little town called Scarperia. This street [Via Roma] was just so terrific -- a pizzeria on the corner and gelato and pastry shop up the street. What else do you need?"
"There's a building called II Palazzo dei Vicari [built in the 14th century,] something between a museum and a city hall and a government building -- a fabulous, fabulous building, where you can learn about the Medici family and see family crests and all of these great artifacts." Read more

We walk up early in the morning with still the echoes of the previous night concert in our head, pack the cases and ready in the car, destination L.A.
