KISS fan hosts hometown Halloweenfest as Gene
Radio announcer and mobile DJ, Bill France has been a huge KISS fan all his life. "I started dressing up as Gene in third grade. He's the only member I've ever dressed as." France says it started innocent enough, cardboard, aluminum foil and duct tape. "Family and friends always thought I would grow out of it. I never did and I'm glad I didn't."
When he was asked to host his local town's Halloweenfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 24th. He said he wanted to use the event to share his love of all things KISS with the hometown crowd. He said some of the smaller kids were confused, some ran and hid but the teens and especially the parents were lovin' it. "I may, in fact, be the only certified KISS nut in my town. I think I was the only person who demanded they come here. But I had a blast bringing KISS to them in my own special way. If a few of those kids go home and download some classic KISS tunes because of it...even the better!"
Next year, France will have some competition when his two year old gets in costume too!

Bill France è da sempre un KISS fan e anche da sempre ha voluto emulare Gene Simmons. Quest'anno ha stupito tutti gli abitanti del suo paese organizzando una clamorosa festa di Halloween e presentandosi come lo vedete nella foto!! E l'anno prossimo per France la competizione diventerà ancora più dura quando suo figlio di due anni avrà anche lui il suo costume!

A few days ago Giacomo (Giga to his friends) also known as the Juliet KISS Starchild invited me to attend one of  the latest rehearsal of his new creature, Live 4 Win, a Paul Stanley  Solo Project Tribute Band.
For over a year I'm going through new experiences thanks to the DeuceNews activities, so also this time I left my mind free of expectations and only vaguely thinking about what I would have witnessed. In support of my feelings I had only my memories when I was just a boy in a rehearsal room with high school classmates cranking the volume to ten and dreaming of becoming a star, without having a clue about how to play a guitar. I was expecting old boys grew up with the myth of rock’n’roll .... I found myself in front of four professional musicians with the heart of a child: passion, energy and a technique to be the envied by most of well-renowned artists who are winking from the magazines covers. Live 4 Win are: Giacomo Gigantelli, lead vocals and guitar; Gionata Bellei, lead guitar; Damiano Battaglia, bass; Roberto Gamabarelli, drums. All with a proven experience both live and in studio. In almost two hours they made me dream, playing almost in its entirety the set list that was immortalized in the recent Paul Stanley DVD One Live KISS. Despite the rehearsal room  was far from being a professional one the foursome have been able to replicate with great precision the fervor and ferocity that the supergroup, organized by Stanley shopped around the States and Australia some years ago. Live 4 Win will soon debut live, here you can find all the information. You must go and see them, it would be a big mistake not going there, also because they have some nice surprises that absolutely will not disappoint you!

Qualche giorno fa Giacomo (Giga per gli amici) noto anche come lo Starchild dei Juliet KISS mi ha invitato in sala prove per assistere ad una delle ultime reharsal prima del concerto di debutto della sua nuova creatura, i Live 4 Win, Tribute Band al solo project di Paul Stanley. Ormai da più di un anno sto vivendo esperienze nuove grazie  all’attività di DeuceNews; così anche questa volta sono partito con la mente sgombra da aspettative e solo vagamente pensando a quello che avrei assistito. In aiuto delle mie sensazioni avevo solo i ricordi di me ragazzino in sale prove con i compagni di liceo a far gara a chi faceva più casino con il proprio ampli sognando di diventare famosi, senza avere la minima idea di che cosa vuol dire saper suonare.  Pensavo di trovarmi in mezzo a dei ragazzi cresciuti con il mito del rock….mi sono trovato davanti quattro professionisti con il cuore di un bambino: passione, energia ed una tecnica da far invidia a ben più blasonati artisti che fanno l’occhiolino dalle copertine delle riviste in edicola.
I Live 4 Win sono: Giacomo Gigantelli, voce solista e chitarra; Gionata Bellei, chitarra solista; Damiano Battaglia,basso; Roberto Gamabarelli, batteria.
Tutti con una comprovata esperienza sia live che in studio alle spalle.
Nel giro di due ore infatti mi hanno fatto sognare, snocciolando quasi per intero la set list che Paul Stanley ha immortalato nel recente DVD One Live KISS. A dispetto di una sala prove lontana dell’essere all’altezza i quattro hanno saputo rendere con fantastica precisione l’ardore e la ferocia che il supergruppo internazionale organizzato dal Stanley ha portato in giro per gli States e l’Australia qualche anno fa. Presto i Live 4 Win debutteranno in concerto, qui potete trovare tutte le informazioni. Non dovete assolutamente mancare, sarebbe un grave errore, anche perché hanno in serbo per voi alcune sorprese che non vi deluderanno assolutamente!!!

KISS ROCKS A-STAGE AT HDSTUDIO (from shootonline.com)

Legendary rockers KISS recently stormed into 'Detroit Rock City' in September 2009. While in town, the foursome paid a visit to hdstudios' A-Stage to shoot a new music video with production company Merge/Crossroads. hdstudios is a division of Grace & Wild, Inc.

"Modern Day Delilah" was directed by famed music video director Wayne Isham, whose credits include directing videos for Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Metallica and Godsmack, among others. hdstudios provided the sound stage and coordinated equipment and crew to shoot live performances and rehearsals at Cobo Hall over the four days the band was in town. Additional companies contributing included Detroit Power & Light and Stratton Camera, and local crew included producers Galen Chandler and Marguerite Parise. More

Did you expect this amazing success all over the places?

Hi Fabio! We are very happy and excited about Sonic Boom and KISS these days !  The band really feels that we made a very strong record and captured the KISS energy on tape that we bring to the stage every night.

We thank all of you for the support and are glad you all love it too.

Recently Paul stated that almost the whole album was two takes and the few songs that worried you were because you had to do a third and it was just kind of like as a safety. Was it quite like recording live, right?

It was recording 'Live" since we played in a room as a band with no click tracks or drum machines to play along with. That is the way records were made in the early years of KISS.

Out of the 11 Sonic Boom songs I have to admit that Tommy's and your are the ones with a sense of freshness and "new" that gave this record a really new vibe in the KISS sound. How it was singing on a new KISS tune? Was Paul very demanding for your vocals? More

Get ready to rock and roll all night -- KISS is back.
The veteran rockers' ``Alive 35'' world tour is an homage to KISS Alive, the double album that rocketed the guys to global fame in the mid-'70s.
We spoke to Stanley, 57, about how they keep it going after 35 years:
How many songs from the new album are you doing?
``We didn't want to do songs people didn't know, but here you are the No. 2 album in the country and obviously people are getting to know these songs. They had to sound great live because we recorded them live. Music isn't supposed to be made under a microscope. Everything we did was on the first or second take. If it's perfect, it's not rock 'n' roll.''
How has your songwriting changed?
``To write great music you almost have to debrief yourself. Technical ability can sometimes get in the way. All the great early songs were written really quickly, without overanalyzing every verb and adverb.''
 Were you pleased with the outcome?
``What I wanted to get on this album was that same vitality and that same energy that I think had been lacking. From the get-go, the first rule was no outside writers. The idea of bringing someone in to do the work for you, to interpret who you are, is a problem.''
What sets `Sonic Boom' apart?
``This time it was more important to make a great album. You can't make a great album with people in the band saying, How can the band make me more famous? Instead of: How can I make the band more famous? This album is about people who believe in the band.'' Read it all at this location

What were you doing when we interupted you to do this?
I was eating in the other room actually some … chicken quesadilla, with my shoes off, relaxing.

May 12th
Where did you go to high school?
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and I went to High School on the east side of Cleveland. At that time it was in the Seventies and I was lucky to grow up in a cool time of music and culturally, at least in America. It was a typical mid western town but Cleveland’s a real rock n roll city its where the rock n roll fame is at. It was a great place, very open minded- I mean as regards to music (not so much culturally with people), but when it comes to music people just really loved rock n roll there, always have and what we looked forward to was buying records every week or going to a show. I saw so many great concerts in my formative years as a kid so I’m glad I grew up there. It was a great place to grow up, no doubt about it.
What was the first instrument you ever played?
I think I tried playing piano in like the second grade or something for a short time but I gravitated towards drums, even though I love guitar and always have been influenced by mostly guitar based music. I guess I liked hitting things! My mom told me that typical drummer story- that I liked to the hit pots and pans you know when I was a little kid?! She’d pull them out of the cupboard and with the wooden spoons and all that. Once I discovered bands like Led Zeppelin and that in like 1969, that was it, I was hooked!
What was the first band you guys ever played in and what did you guys sound like?
I had a band in sixth grade- I can remember everybody in the band and we called ourselves ‘The Axe’ I have no idea why. We actually had two drummers because another friend of mine also played drums so we ended up taking turns playing. And I do remember playing for the school classroom and in sixth grade- we played Hey Jude by the Beatles and I remember being scared to death!
Favourite food?
Anything Thai
Beverage of choice?
Sparkling water
What’s your biggest peeve on the road?
Just not being able to sleep sometimes- imsomnia
Track of the moment?
Beatles- I’ve been listening to those remastered, reissued Beatles records...
Movie of the moment?
The last one I saw that I really liked was ‘The Watchmen’. That was killer I thought
When you look back on your career thus far, what’s the most prominent moment?
Well in some ways it’s still making them. I still look at it this way- the fact that I’ve been able to make a living as a musician; that in itself to me is the most prominent thing, rather than singling out any particular moment or any band or any person I worked with (because I’ve gotten to play with some great musicians and some cool situations and great people).  I just remember I started off as a kid, not unlike a lot of other kids that had posters on the walls of bands saying, “I wanna do that.  Some day I wish I could do that" and the fact that I’ve got to do that and still do that- that to me, that’s big for me. So to me the story’s kinda been written every day, in a way. More at Roadrunner UK

Sonic Boom scored a wonderful #5 in the European album chart, combined sales all over Europe. KISS has never reached such chart position erlier in their career.

WASHINGTON DC CONCERT REVIEW (by Angelo for DeuceNews)

The concert was simply great, the new stage is amazing full of lights and screen all over the place where images from KISS album and various pictures are displayed. I never saw such big fireworks a coloured flames!! Then of course there's the mother of all screens right above Eric, who seems happy like a child in a candy store with his rotating drum!!!! Although Paul was not 100% OK with his voice he delivered as usual, Gene is Gene and Tommy has become the man, really!!!

Il concerto e' stato fantastico, il nuovo palco e' grandioso pieno di luci e schermi che proiettano immagini degli album dei Kiss e di loro stessi, tre grandissimi schermi due a lato e uno immenso proprio sopra ERIC che si diverte come un bambino con la sua batteria rotante di 360gradi!!!! I fuochi sono molto piu' belli e molto piu' forti, le fiamme sono colorate.... A mio avviso Paul non sembrava al 100% soprattutto con la voce, qualche steccatina in Modern Day Delilah!!!! Gene e' il solito che conosciamo tutti nonostante abbia 60 anni e Tommy sembra aver trovato la sua dimensione nei Kiss soprattutto nella nuova canzone sembra un altro!!!

Just got back from seeing Kiss in Philadelphia. They delivered once again!!
Luckily enough I was there also for soundcheck. KISS played Got To Choose, Rock Bottom and from Sonic Boom Modern Day Delilah, Never Enough, Russian Roulette, I'm An Animal...they sounded great live!!
Never saw this band so thight and his members so happy to play and be on stage together!!! It's also good to say that Paul was very on in Philly yesterday. He didn't struggle on Modern Day Delilah or any other song. He was in full force, he was the Paul Stanley we all know and love.Gene Simmons sounded like GENE SIMMONS of years ago. Tommy and Eric were...simply amazing!!

Durante il soundcheck a Philadelphia i KISS hanno suonato ben quattro pezzi di Sonic Boom: Modern Day Delilah, Never Enough, Russian Roulette, I'm An Animal e...sono state fantastiche!! Paul sembra si stia riprendendo alla grande e tutti e quatttro hanno entusiasmato ancora una volta!

Mediaworld is one of the largest media retailer in Italy with stores placed all over the territory.

The Kiss co-founder, reality TV star and entrepreneur has his fingerprints on virtually all segments of the music industry. Born Chaim Witz in 1949 in Haifa, Israel, and the only child of a Holocaust survivor, Simmons ignited the Kiss explosion in 1972. The band remains a touring, licensing and merchandising powerhouse, and it launched the U.S. leg of the Kiss Alive/35 tour Sept. 25 in Detroit. KISS ON KIMMEL SHOW TONIGHT

As previously announced, part of KISS' performance at Detroit's Cobo Hall Arena will be broadcasted on tonight's edition of "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The show airs at 12:05/11:05c on ABC TV.

Per i Kiss un ritorno con il botto. Primo album in studio dopo 11 anni
Avevano detto che non avrebbero mai più fatto dischi in studio e invece eccoli di nuovo qui, a undici anni di distanza dall'ultimo "Psycho Circus". I Kiss sono tornati e in forma più che mai. Gli anni per Gene Simmons e Paul Stanley non sembrano passare il nuovo "Sonic Boom" sembra essere lì a dimostrarlo: un disco Kiss al 100%, dal gusto retrò ma non per questo meno piacevole. Non che in questi anni la band sia stata con le mani in mano: tra tour, cofanetti, raccolte e merchandising vario l'industria Kiss è qualcosa che gira a mille con il fatturato di una multinazionale (in attivo). Ma un album in studio sembrava veramente un'esperienza relegata al passato. Forse perché l'ultimo, "Psycho Circus", nonostante l'adrenalina della reunion in formazione originale, era uscito piuttosto sciapo tanto da sollevare tiepidi entusiasmi anche tra i fan più incalliti. Questo aveva spinto Gene Simmons a dire che non ci sarebbero più stati dischi dei Kiss. Evidentemente una rinnovata ispirazione gli ha fatto cambiare idea. Del gruppo originale oggi ci sono solo lui e Stanley accompagnati dai fidi Tommy Thayer (chitarra) ed Eric Singer (batteria), e fondamentalmente è meglio così. I due possono condurre la locomotiva a tutta velocità attraverso undici pezzi che non hanno nulla da invidiare al passato. Simmons si è spinto a dire che questo "è il miglior disco realizzato dai tempi di Destroyer (1976)". Classiche dichiarazioni da promozione, ma non c'è dubbio che "Modern Day Delilah", "Stand" o "Russian Roulette" hanno il pregio di suonare tanto datate nello stile quanto fresche nell'energia che si portano dietro. Il paradosso è che i Kiss sono rimasti tanto fedeli a se stessi nella versione 70's da risultare comunque originali rispetto al grosso della produzione hard rock attuale. E "Sonic Boom" è un album perfetto per non annoiare chi conosce i Kiss a memoria così come per catturare chi vi si avvicina per la prima volta. L'altro segreto sta nell'inimitabile make up: il marchio di fabbrica dei Kiss è diventato anche il loro elisir di lunga vita. Grazie a quello, nonostante gli anni che passano, sul palco possono dare l'illusione di essere quelli di vent'anni fa, grazie a quello possono intercambiare gli elementi del gruppo senza che molti se ne accorgano e sempre grazie alle maschere possono evitare il ridicolo in cui cadono altri 60enni quando si trovano a cantare di notti di fuoco a base di sesso, alcol e rock'n'roll. Per gli appassionati "Sonic Boom" (il primo album su etichetta Roadrunner/Loud&Proud) è disponibile anche in versione triplo cd, con il disco, una raccolta di successi reinterpretati e un dvd girato in Argentina durante l'ultimo tour. Imperdibile.

SONIC BOOM RELEASE PARTY IN MILAN

On Friday October 2nd lots of KISS fans and many occasional guests attended the KISS party at the Rock’N’Roll in Milan. The party was part of the live events organized by Roadrunner Records Italia and promoted by DeuceNews to launch KISS Sonic Boom in Italy.

The place was packed and tribute band Kissexy performed a bombastic setlist including the new hit single from Sonic Boom, Modern Day Delilah.  Sonic Boom had been aired for the pleasure of all the people in attendance and the reception had been simply enthusiastic!!!

Give-aways provided by KISS and Roadrunner highlighted the party.

Venerdì scorso 2 ottobre numerosissimi KISS fans e molti ospiti occasionali hanno partecipato al KISS party al Rock'N'Roll di Milano. La serata faceva parte degli eventi live organizzati da Roadrunner Records Italia e promossa da DeuceNews per lanciare KISS Sonic Boom in Italia.
Il locale si è presto riempito e la tribute band Kissexy ha eseguito una scaletta esplosiva che ha incluso anche il nuovo singolo di Sonic Boom, Modern Day Delilah. Sonic Boom era stato fatto ascoltare in sala e la reazione è stata semplicemente entusiasta! Gadgets e CD  marchiati KISS e Roadrunner hanno fatto la gioia dei presenti.

KISS ON TV NEXT WEEK

As previously reported KISS will guest on CBS-TV's "Late Show With David Letterman" on Tuesday, October 6, while the filmed footage video taken during the band's private warm-up show at Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan on September 24 with over 1,500 lucky fans attending the event, will air on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" late on Wednesday, October 7th.

La prossima settimana i KISS appariranno al "Late Show With David Letterman" il 6 di Ottobre e il 7 notte verranno proposti al "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" i pezzi registrti il 24 Settembre durante il dress reharsal alla Cobo Hall di Detroit.

According to Cyberpresse.ca, KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will guest on this Sunday's (October 4) episode of the French-language show "Tout Le Monde En Parle". The program was taped earlier today at the Radio-Canada studios in Montreal and will air on all Radio-Canada stations across Canada.
