Lots of activity.
Finishing up filming Season IV of GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS (20 new episodes). It will debut in June. However, as some of you have noticed (in other countries), our show is played year 'round. We are seen around the world in many languages. Some are dubbed, some are sub-titled. From New Zealand, to South Africa. From Argentina to Russia and Finland. 84 countries!!!

Just finalized a few new deals -- one for a new KISS book...and moving our COMIC BOOK lines to a new company -- one of the biggest...
We have a Financial Product we're working on that's shaping up to be (perhaps) the biggest venture we've ever undertaken. Can't say more at this time.
KISSTERIA, our TV Special for A&E will air sometime in the fall.
We're also developing a NEW TV SHOW (soon to be announced) for Network.
And, we are Producing a FILM that's about to start shooting in the near future.
Looks like there's an ANIMATION DEAL that's not too far from the finish line. If and when it's done, it will enable us to fund and own our own animated cartoon show.
Working on a New GUITAR deal -- that will bring you a full, musical line - GENE SIMMONS AXE BASSES and guitars and GENE SIMMONS PUNISHERS and guitars...amps, mics, straps...the works.
My long in the works GENE SIMMONS BOX SET ("Alter Ego") will probably see the light of day in the fall and (looks like) will contain 150 songs that have never been released.

Recentemente Gene Simmons ha parlato con Comércio do Jahu in merito al prossimo Tour dei KISS in Sud America e molto altro, questo è quello che ha detto del nuovo album:

"Sì, lanceremo un album con 12 o 15 brani inediti. Abbiamo già registrato le parti di voce e chitarra di quattro pezzi. Ultimeremo l'album in Luglio e lo lanceremo in Settembre. Per quanto riguarda il suono posso dirvi che sarà come un nuovo "Rock-n'-roll over", con sonorità metà anni settanta, veloce, pesante. Non ci sarà nessun rap e musica country. GENE : WE WILL LAUNCH AN ALBUM WITH 12 OR 15 UNPUBLISHED SONGS

Recently Gene Simmons talked with Comércio do Jahu about the forthcoming KISS South American Tour and other matters, this is what he said about the new album:
"Yes, we will launch an album with 12 or 15 unpublished songs. We already recorded vocals and guitars for four of them. We will finish up the album in July and launch it in September. I can say the sound will be like a sort of a new "Rock-n'-roll over", mid-seventies sound , fast and heavy. There will be no rap, no country music. It is difficult to define music, but if you keep in mind that definition, you will understand very well what we are talking about. It's the classic KISS sound."

Il 15 gennaio Deucenews rivela una voce non confermata in merito a 13 brani già scritti e pronti per essere registrati e mixati; dei 13 brani, 9 dovrebbero essere di Paul, 3 di Gene e uno da Tommy ....
02 febbraio Paul "E' un album Kiss nel più classico e vero senso - stiamo registrando in analogico, non digitale, e lo scriviamo da soli."

KISS ALBUM: WORK IN PROGRESS
Lately Gene made a point about the KISS camp.
Let's sum up the status of the art about the KISS album so far:
On the 15th of January Deucenews revealed an unconfirmed rumor about 13 tunes already written ready to be recorded and mixed; out of the 13 tracks, 9 should be by Paul, 3 by Gene and one by Tommy....
02 Feb Paul "It's a Kiss album in the most true and classic sense - we're recording it in analogue, not digital, and writing it ourselves."
16 Feb Gene talks to Pagina12 and says "We are making a new album produced by Paul..The idea is to make the record quickly, like we did at the time of Destroyer, Rock And Roll Over and Love Gun. Maybe in March we will go in a studio and record two or three songs...
27 Feb Paul announces he, Gene Simmons and the rest of KISS would be entering the studio next week to grind out a new, but yet to be titled record, for a fall 2009 release;
09 Mar Paul says that if the demand called for it, Kiss would release its new album on vinyl while Tommy says no plan exist for him to sing a song;
13 Mar Gene to rollingstone.com: "The songs are all written" and one of them could be titled "Rotten to the core";
25 Mar Gene while being on Mark & Brian: KISS just recorded 4 songs in 3 days, just like the 70's;

PAUL STANLEY: NEW ALBUM OUT IN SEPTEMBER

KISS CONFIRMED IN SARNIA ON JULY 10 (from the london free press)

As previously reported by DeuceNews more Canadian dates are getting confirmed.

Organizer Michele Stokley said she can finally confirm KISS appearance in Sarnia.

KISS will perform on Friday, July 10.
"It feels really good; we're really excited.It's more than just a rock show. It's everything that goes with KISS. They're a great band to see live", she said.
Tickets cost from $22.99 to $129.99, weekend rock pass ranges from $57.99 to $199.99.

BILL STARKEY REMEMBERS (thx originals from kissfansite.yoku.com)

Tra il 1974 e il 1975, Bill Starkey e i suoi amici hanno costituito la KISS Army assaltando le radio con richieste di fare sentire la band e girando per i centri commerciali e i ristoramti vestiti e truccati da KISS.
Per il 19mo compleanno di Bill il gruppo, dopo essere venuto a conoscenza di quanto fatto gli offrì l'opportunità di essere il presidente nazionale del KISS Fan Club. Quello che segue sono alcune interessanti storie che Starkey ricorda della sua esperienza con Gene Simmons.

-Per il 'Hotter Than Hell' tour, i miei amici e io eravamo sotto il palco - circa 10 persone intorno a Simmons. Gene ha preso il microfono e con una mano lo ha lanciato sopra la folla, voleva che noi ci gridassimo dentro. E questo ci ha fatto scatenare acnora di più.. Simmons sembrava così minaccioso e grandioso.
-Dopo che i KISS arrivarono in Terra Haute nel 1975, Gene è stato messo in una limousine con un intervistatore di una stazione radio. Durante l'intervista, la limo ha bucato una ruota e questo è come è finita l'intervista. Gene fuori dalla limousine che inizia a posare per le persone intorno, nel centro di Wabash in attesa che cambiassero auto.

Between 1974 and 1975, Bill Starkey and his friends effectively started the KISS Army by relentlessly barraging radio stations with demands to play the band and by frequenting malls and drive thru restaurants in full KISS make-up.
On Bill's 19th birthday, the band's management - having gotten wind of Starkey's
efforts - offered Starkey the opportunity to be the President of a National KISS Fan Club. What follows are some interesting stories that Starkey has to tell about his experiences with Gene Simmons. Enjoy!
-For the 'Hotter Than Hell' tour, my buddies and I were on the floor - about 10 people back from Simmons. Gene took the boom mic stand and picked it up with one hand and thrust it over the crowd, wanting us all to yell into it. It just made us even more crazy. Simmons looked so threatening and larger than life.
-After KISS arrived in Terra Haute in 1975, Gene was put into a limousine with an interviewer from a radio station. During the interview, the wheel came off the limo and that's how the interview ended. Gene got out of the limousine and started posing for people on downtown Wabash Avenue while they switched cars.

-The first time I heard Gene talk, I was a bit disappointed. We thought he would be this big bad-ass but he is really intellectual. It was funny to hear him talk because you expect him to be very imposing. But Peter was the one who was actually the most imposing. Peter was "Fuck this and fuck that" and it was hilarious. We more expected that from Gene. To hear these guys actually talk was a cool experience. I couldn't believe how big they were. Their leather costumes had a strange stench to them, I don't know why.

NEW KISS DEALS: KISS TV SHOW, KISS M&Ms AND....

Mentre era a Toronto per il Canadian Music Week, Gene Simmons ha avuto l'opportunità di parlare con alcune persone nel music biz, queste le "notizie non ancora confermate" sui prossimi KISS deals: Gene Simmons è vicino a firmare un accordo con lo zar dei reality-show Mark Burnett per un nuovo KISS reality show, lo spettacolo sarà su di loro in studio, al lavoro sul nuovo album; Gene ha appena girato uno spot commerciale per Dr. Pepper's con il figlio Nick e le quattro facce dei KISS saranno presto sulle M&Ms.

While in Toronto for the Canadian Music Week, Gene Simmons had the opportunity to talk to numbers of people in the music biz, these the "unconfirmed news so far" about forthcoming KISS deals: Gene Simmons is in talks and close to landing a deal with reality-show czar Mark Burnett for a new KISS reality show, the show will be about them in the studio working on the new album; just filmed a Dr. Pepper's commercial with his son Nick and the four faces of the KISS band members will soon be featured on M&Ms.

In addition to that Gene directly from his site confirmed that his trademark basses, The Punisher and The AXE will be available again soon, "Yes, soon" Gene said.

Alice Cooper will headline the second annual "Supergroup" benefit concert on April 26 at Berklee Performance Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

CRITTER GETS KISS ON THE PHONE(from cincinnati.com)

Christopher "Critter" Smith, ha ricevuto una telefonata a sorpresa da Paul Stanley ed Eric Singer. Critter è un KISS fan di 11 anni che sta lottando contro la leucemia. Il telefono è squillato mercoledì pomeriggio nella camera di Christopher al Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. "Critter, è Paul Stanley"
"In un primo momento, ho pensato che fosse solo mio padre che scherzava", ha detto Critter.
Era veramente Stanley. Stava chiamando dal Sud America (?), dove i KISS inizieranno il prossimo mese un tour di concerti. "Quando ho capito che era davvero lui, era come, 'Oh mio Dio!'" Critter detto.
Stanley gli ha detto di rimanere forte e che lui stava pregando per lui. "E lui mi ha detto che mi avrebbe spedito dei KISS memorabilia", ha detto Critter.

Christopher "Critter" Smith, got a surprise call from Paul Stanley and Eric Singer.
Critter is 11-year-old KISS fan fighting leukemia.
The phone rang Wednesday afternoon in Christopher "Critter" Smith's room at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
"Critter, it's Paul Stanley" "At first, I thought it was just my dad messing with me," Critter said.
It really was Stanley. He was calling from South America (?) where KISS will kick off a tour next month."When I realized it was really him, I was like, 'Oh my God!'" Critter said.
Stanley told Critter to stay strong and that he was praying for him. "And he told me he was going to send me some KISS stuff," Critter said. "I was lying down all day," Critter said. "Then, after he called me, I was up playing basketball in my room."About 10 p.m. that same day, the phone rang again. It was the band's drummer, Eric Singer.
"I was just like 'Woooow!'" Critter exclaimed.

KISS TO TOUR CANADA?

La metal band di ragazzini Crooked X (il KISS manager Doc McGhee è anche il loro manager) ha annunciato dal loro MySpace Music che faranno da opener per i KISS nelle date sotto riportate.

Da notare che le date per Montreal e Halifax sono differenti da quanto precedentemente comunicato dai KISS tramite kissonline ed il Sarnia Bay Fest Rock Weekend è programmato per il 9, 10 e 11 Luglio..Altre conferme in arrivo?

Gene Simmons ha recentemente parlato al telefono con Guy Dixon dal Globe and Mail, in merito alla sua presenza domani come keynote speaker a Toronto per il Canadian Music Week, Gene si sta prendendo una pausa dalla registrazione del primo album in studio dei KISS in 10 anni e ha anche aggiunto che la band non ha alcun fretta di finire l'album a breve. Recently Gene Simmons talked by phone with Guy Dixon from Globe and Mail as he's in Toronto tomorrow to make a keynote speech at Canadian Music Week, taking a break from recording KISS's first studio album in 10 years. Although, he quickly noted, the band is in no hurry to finish the album any time soon. Gene talked mainly of his new venture in the Music biz
“I'd like to sign three acts the first year” and “I'm looking for the next U2 and Led Zeppelin. The only thing that matters is ‘Do you have the goods?'“ he says, but adds “it's not enough to be [just] a band.”

PAUL STANLEY: SE CI SARA' L'OPPORTUNITA' REALIZZAREMO IL NUOVO ALBUM SU VINILE

Recentemente Paul è stato intervistato in merito al mercato dei dischi in vinile, ecco che cosa ha detto ad amNY.com.

"La bellezza di comprare un LP è il fatto che hai in mano un pezzo d'arte, il frutto del lavoro di qualcuno che si è impegnato nel realizzare qualcosa di creativo, dinamico ed interessante da guardare, e magari da appendere perfino nella tua camera. Adsso con i CD tutto quello che vedi è il nome di qualcuno e basta. Per questo mi mancano i dischi in vinile."

Paul Stanley ha aggiunto che se si sarà l'opportunità i KISS realizzeranno il nuovo album anche in vinile.

Recently Paul talked to amNY.com about the vinyl records, here what he said about:

“The beauty in buying an LP used to be you got a package, a piece of art — something that someone worked hard on to make it creative, dynamic and interesting to look at it and maybe to put on your wall,” Stanley said. “And now with CDs, all you can see is someone’s name. In that way I miss it.”
Paul Stanley said that if the demand called for it, Kiss would release its new album on vinyl.

T:KISS in Brazil is always huge and this time will be no different. After the start of our Alive/35 tour in Europe last summer that went so well, the band is primed and ready to put on the ultimate show for the fans of Brazil. It's gonna be a party!
R: Many fans awaiting this show for 10 years, what Kiss reserve us for the big day?
T:The band is rockin' like never before.
R: Tell me about the new album from Kiss. Can you say something about it?
T: We're in the recording studio right now working. Your gonna love it!
R: Do you will sing a song in the album?
T: No plans to.
R: With the release of the album, do you believe that the band would return to Brazil?
T: I think that's a great idea.
R: I don’t know if someone already asked you this, but when and how do you received the invitation to replace Ace Frehley?
T: As you might know, I've been in the KISS camp for many years. When the time was right, it happened naturally.
R: Did you want to create your own makeup?

Durante l'ALIVE35 TOUR i KISS, oltre ai M&G avevano proposto di assistere ai soundchecks.

Purtroppo a causa dell'eccesiva durata delle operazioni di costruzione del palco, solo in due occasioni i KISS fans hanno potuto assistervi. Ecco una fantastica testimonianza del soundcheck di Monaco (Germania).

CLASSIC ROCK E IL NUOVO KISS ALBUM (da www.classicrockmagazine.com)

Allora, che cosa possiamo aspettarci dal nuovo Kiss album, il loro primo full-studio project dal 1998 con Psycho Circus? Beh, la produzione è di Paul Stanley, che prevediamo sia un buon segno. L'album viene anche registrato in analogico e non digitale, che probabilmente è un segnale ancora migliore.
Come recentemente ha affermato Stanley : "E 'un album Kiss nel più classico e vero senso - stiamo registrando in analogico, non digitale, e lo sciviamo noi stessi".
Quindi, sì, ci aspettiamo grandi cose. Abbiamo solo due dubbi. In primo luogo, Eric Singer potrebbe essere un migliore batterista rispetto all'originale "tub-thumper" Peter Criss, ma non è così un buon cantante - come chiunque lo abbia ascoltato cantare Black Diamond al Downlowad Festival può testimoniare. Quindi speriamo bene che Eric si limiti solo a picchiare sui tamburi sul nuovo Kiss record.
In secondo luogo, Tommy Thayer può essere tecnicamente un più abile chitarrista rispetto all'originale chitarrista dei Kiss, Ace Frehley (avviso, c'è qualcosa che bolle in pentola qui?). Ma parte del fascino originale dei Kiss era proprio nello stile chitarristico deliziosamente claudicante dell'astronauta per non parlare della sua mano pesante nei furiosi riffs. E lo stile canoro da "cane pazzo" di Frehley non può essere certo ignorato. Potrà Thayer tenere il passo ed i livelli gloriosi del passato chiamato Ace? Ce lo auguriamo. Non abbiamo alcun motivo di pensare diversamente.
Lo scopriremo fra qualche tempo questo autunno. Ma in questa fase, solo una cosa è assolutamente certa: Sarà una luuuuuunghissima attesa....

CLASSIC ROCK TALKS ABOUT NEW KISS ALBUM (from www.classicrockmagazine.com)

So, what can we expect from Kiss’s new album, their first full-on studio project since 1998’s Psycho Circus? Well, Paul Stanley is producing, which we reckon is a good sign. The album is also being recorded in analog rather than digital, which arguably is an even better sign.
As Stanley recently affirmed: “It’s a Kiss album in the most true and classic sense — we’re recording it in analog, not digital, and writing it ourselves.”
So, yes, we’re expecting great things. We have but two qualms. First, Eric Singer might be a better drummer than original Kiss tub-thumper Peter Criss, but he ain’t as good a vocalist – as anyone who heard Singer on Black Diamond at Download will testify. So let’s hope Eric is content just to beat the skins on Kiss’s new record.
Second, Tommy Thayer may be a more technically proficient guitarist than Kiss’s original six-stringer Ace Frehley (notice a theme developing here?). But part of Kiss’s original charm was the Spaceman’s delightfully stumblesome playing, not to mention his endearingly heavy-handed riffs. Frehley’s barking-mad singing style shouldn’t be ignored, either. Can Thayer step up to the plate and match Ace’s past glories? We hope so. We have no reason to expect otherwise.
We’ll find out for sure sometime this autumn. But at this stage only one thing is totally certain: it’s gonna be a lo-o-o-o-o-ong wait…
